Today we will be spending the day mainly doing off-road. We have two jeeps 4x4 and I will take my GSA.
The plan is to do part of the Alpine Loop starting at Ouray and go South to Cork Screw and then go to lunch at Silverton. We will then go to Animas Forks and cross California Pass and go to Engineer's Pass and back to Ouray..
I am a bit nervous as I do not know what we will find but yesterday we met a couple of riders from England that had done the passes and they thought I should be able to make it.
The passes have just been opened about 1-2 weeks ago and there is still plenty of snow piled up on the side of the road so I am expecting the roads to be wet.
We are leaving at 8am and we will be meeting for breakfast at 7am.
