Over the last two days we have stayed in Boulder Colorado and enjoyed visiting our daughter and friends as well as see this very nice city.
We arrived in Boulder on June 8, 2013 late in the afternoon. Picked up our daughter and spent the evening with her.
Then on Saturday, June 9 2013 we met with our friends Andres and Stephanie at noon and they took us in a car for a tour of the city of Boulder.
The highlights were the University of Colorado in Boulder
Chautauqua which is a National Historic Landmark since 2006
Flagstaff Drive which has great views of Boulder and its surrounding areas.
After our short tour of the city we went to pick up Cristina (our daughter) and then went to the center of the city and walked the famous Pearl Street, where we did window shopping, saw different street acts and just enjoyed walking in the sun.
For lunch we went to a restaurant on Pearl Street called The Med, where we sat outside and had some delicious tapas and sangria.
It was still early in the afternoon but we had had a very productive time and Andres and Stephanie had been great hosts. They went even further and offered one of their cars so that we could see things on our own.
And see more things we did, after a rest in the afternoon by the pool we then went back to Chautauqua for the sunset and walked a bit of the trails (which we enjoyed so much we decided we needed to come back the next day and spend more time exploring them).
We also went to Bova's and had some great frozen custard.
For the evening we went back to Pearl Street and enjoyed it at night. It was great to just sit on the bench and hear a musician play the piano (and he played very well) and just enjoy the cool evening after a very full day.
For dinner we decided to go healthy and went to The Yellow Deli which operates for 24 hours and we had soup, salad, chilli and a very tasty fruit platter.
It was not too late but as it had been a great a very full day we decided to call it a day and go back to hotel to rest.
